That’s an excellent thing for a brand to do. Step inside any of their restaurants, and you’ll experience something truly intimate as you indulge in the sheer delights of what food can do.

So much meaning in a simple name
Roka’s purpose has always been in its name. Ro – a meeting place to share good food and drinks with friends around the robata. Ka – the heat, warmth, and an all-embracing energy surround
Getting to the heart of it
The robata, the centre of every restaurant, where the dishes are proudly prepared. Our brand colours are directly inspired by the grill. Charcoal, Burnt Orange, and Stone immediately bring Roka’s heat, energy, and simplicity to mind.

Adding texture
Binchōtan is a specialist type of charcoal traditionally used in Japanese cooking. Its purity, long cooking time, minimal smoke, and consistent temperatures make it the best – and it’s mesmerizing to look at.
To add depth and richness to the brand and enhance the concept of robata, we introduced Binchōtan textures as a supportive graphic element to use across key brand communications.

Photo ready
For a restaurant brand, photography is integral. Taste, flavour, heat, and energy are vital parts of the Roka experience, and our photography had to capture a sense of that. The food photography is natural, authentic, warm, and focused on the food and ingredients.
The dishes are captured in the context of the restaurant to feel as authentic as possible – caught moments within the Roka experience.
